How we check downloads
We want you to download safely. Here is exactly what we do — and what we do not — so you can decide with clear eyes.
What we do
- Link to the publisher’s official download page whenever one exists.
- Prefer free and open-source software with an active project behind it.
- Review links periodically and fix or remove ones that break or turn shady.
- Flag on each app page whether the link points to the official source or an external one.
What we do not do
- We do not host, mirror or repackage installers — the file comes from the external source, not from us.
- We cannot guarantee that every individual copy on a third-party site is unmodified or malware-free.
- We do not publish download counts, ratings or reviews that we did not genuinely collect.
Your part
Always verify the file before installing: confirm you are on the official domain, and check the publisher’s checksums or signatures when they provide them.
Think a link is wrong, unsafe, or infringes your rights?
